Chris Calcagno first established this shop as Hambright Calcagno and Downing (later HCD Advertising and Public Relations) nearly 25 years ago. Courting such clients as Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuits, Cox Communications, Troy University and TowneBank, HCD quickly became one of the Southeast’s premiere advertising agencies, employing nearly 60 employees in four different states.
The year 2008 ushered in a sea change for the company. With the economy, the advertising industry, and most importantly the consumer changing, the traditional model of what an ad agency should be was seismically evolving. Attempting to meet these challenges head on, our leadership quickly realized that reinventing HCD into Seventh Point would be about much more than just adopting a new name.
The moniker draws on the six degrees of motion, including the up-and-down, left-and-right, and forward-and-backward changes in direction with the seventh being your destination. This shift in direction was certainly a theme that translated through our offices, with a sound leadership structure being instituted with the appointment of our vice presidents Mike Carosi, Joe Delatte and Chris Ciardi, and strengthened personnel across the board in every department from production to creative to accounts.
Seventh Point celebrates its 25 anniversary stronger than ever before in its history, and poised to continue its current momentum well into the future.
